Operational data allows us to enhance the Benchmarking reports with useful productivity metrics.
Benchmark Grocery Quarterly Trial Balance program participants share data on other key metrics used in Benchmarking, such as transaction counts and labor hours. This data is collected for each fiscal quarter and the company's retail location. To submit data, click on the Web Survey button in your Dashboard.
Transaction Counts - one number representing the total number of transactions for the period at each location.
Labor Hours - hours worked by employees directly involved in sales activities. Operating labor hours include those departments and staff directly supporting sales activity. Non-operating and Administrative include staff who contribute indirectly to sales. Click here for more details on how to submit labor hour data.
Unlike the Trial Balance, each submission is for a single fiscal period (e.g., Period 1 is January 1 through March 31, Period 2 is April 1 through June 30, etc.)
Please note that additional metrics have been requested in the past, e.g., the total number of units sold. At this time, we are only collecting those data points that are used in our dashboard to deliver useful metrics to participants.
