QuickBooks Online: Export a Trial Balance report

QuickBooks Online has a Trial Balance report that is easy to configure, export and upload. 

Reporting is simple when you use the standard report. Review the configuration and save a version that ensures a consistent format every quarter. You can even share the report with everyone in your company and make it a favorite so it's easy to find each quarter.

QuickBooks Online has recently made some changes and it's a great time to review all your settings for your Trial Balance reporting.

Here are a few things to know:

  • Make sure Account Numbers are turned on and review them each quarter to ensure all your accounts and sub-accounts are named and numbered

  • In the Trial Balance Report, Customize the report in the Cell Settings to use a dash in empty cells

 

  • Reporting period: Choose This Fiscal Year-to-Date from the dropdown, and then adjust the "To" date to be the last day of your most recent period that closed.

  • Export as a CSV or Excel file (We cannot read PDF reports)
