# Is my data safe and anonymous?

## Our platform features secure uploads and ensures your data is anonymous to others while allowing for the useful sharing of data on key financial and operational metrics.

## How does CoMetrics protect my data?

CoMetrics protects user data through a layered security approach covering encryption, access controls, infrastructure security, and Board-approved governance policies. Participant data is kept anonymized and confidential at all times. The specific measures are detailed below.

## What specific security measures does CoMetrics use?

CoMetrics applies the following security measures across its platform and infrastructure:

- **Security governance:** Data security policies are reviewed annually and approved by the Board.
- **Physical security:** Infrastructure is hosted on AWS, providing robust physical security standards.
- **Limited internal data access:** Staff access is controlled via VPN, two-factor authentication, and full disk encryption on individual computers.
- **Encryption:** All data in transit is encrypted with TLS.
- **Authentication:** Amazon Cognito manages customer identity, with password complexity requirements and Multi-Factor Authentication enforced.
- **Incident response:** Documented procedures for technology disasters and security incidents, including communication plans, are maintained.
- **Cyber insurance:** CoMetrics holds cyber insurance and achieved a high score in an independent cyber risk assessment.
- **Customer policy support:** CoMetrics works with customers to help them comply with their own security policies.
