The "top performers" values are an average of the top 25% of companies in the period you've selected, as determined by CoScore.
Based on the basket of metrics that comprise CoScore, the group's top 25% of companies are typically strong performers - generally regarded as successful businesses - and we benchmark against them. This same group is used for all the metrics you are viewing. If you want to see the quartile data to understand the total distribution for a particular metric, that is on the charts for each metric in Benchmarks and based on the actual data points rather than an average.
